Brass & Copper Fixtures

ClaroLux's® Solid Copper & Brass fixtures carry a lifetime structural warranty for repair or replacement. This warranty covers all parts and components with the exception of the lamp, glass and socket.  Copper and brass materials have a living finish and are intended to change color or patina over time.

 

Well Lights

Well Lights carry a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects.  This warranty covers all parts and components, with the exception of the lamp and glass lens. Finish can fade over time when exposed to the direct sunlight. No warranty is included on the finish.

 

Aluminum Powder Coated Fixtures

ClaroLux’s® powder coated fixtures carry a 5-year structural warranty for repair or replacement. This warranty covers all parts and components with the exception of the lamp, glass and socket.  Finish can fade over time when exposed to the direct sunlight. No warranty is included on the finish.

 

Underwater Lights

ClaroLux’s® CL-UL1 underwater light carries a 1-year warranty for repair or replacement. This warranty covers all parts and components with the exception of the lamp and glass lens.  NOTE: Do not place these fixtures into water features that are treated with chlorine and/or algae treatement.  These chemicals can be caustic to the raw materials of the CL-UL1.  

 

Grill Lights

ClaroLux's® GL16 Grill Lights carry a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects.  This warranty covers all parts and components, with the exception of the lamp, glass lens and on/off switch.  The on/off switch carries a 5 year warranty from the manufacturer.  The Stainless Steel on the Grill Light can change or patina over time.  No warranty is included on the finish.

 

Sockets

If the socket in the fixture is no longer functioning properly, please notify ClaroLux® for a replacement part. Sockets come with a 3-year warranty. Water damage or damage caused by abuse/misuse is not covered under the warranty. All ClaroLux® fixtures are designed so that the sockets can be easily replaced in the field by a certified ClaroLux® authorized dealer.

 

Returns for Fixtures

All ClaroLux® fixtures are designed and manufactured with the idea that everything on the fixture is replaceable. This creates a system that truly lasts a lifetime. If anything is happens to one of your ClaroLux Landscape Lighting® fixtures, simply send it back to us, and we can repair the fixture. 

Fixtures that are returned to ClaroLux® MUST have an RGA number. To replace a fixture(s) that is suspected of having a warranted defect, the original purchaser must contact ClaroLux® and obtain a return goods authorization (RGA) and ship FOB destination to the ClaroLux® Manufacturing Center identified on the RGA. Please send all fixture warranty claims to warranty@clarolux.com

ClaroLux® warrants its products against defects in material and workmanship. Without charge (excluding shipping rates), ClaroLux® will repair any properly installed ClaroLux® product which fails under normal operating conditions and has not undergone abuse beyond normal wear-and-tear within the specified warranty period.

Returns of product that do not have warranted defects must be received within 15 days of the product shipment date in order to avoid a 30% restocking fee.  Products may be returned for credit only if unmarked, unopened, in the original sealed packages and in all respects, resalable (must be within 90 days of original purchase date).  All products that are unmarked, unopened, and in the original sealed packages that are 90+ days old are not accepted by ClaroLux for return.  ClaroLux® reserves the right to reject any product returned more than 30 days after the invoice date.  Buyer will be responsible for return freight.  Buyer shall be responsible for any freight loss or damage during return.

Please Note: ClaroLux® reserves the right to decide between repair or replacement on all items.

Custom order fixtures or products cannot be returned for a refund.  All sales are final with custom orders.

 

ClaroLux® Transformers

Transformers carry a limited 15 year warranty against manufacturer’s defects. See below for details.

  • Stainless Steel (SS Series) Enclosures: Lifetime warranty
  • Windings (Core): 15-year warranty
  • Terminal Blocks: 5-year warranty
  • Electrical Components (including contactor switches, resistors, etc): 3-year warranty
  • Photocells: Contact manufacturer for warranty claims
  • Timers: Contact manufacturer for warranty claims

Note-a: Before ClaroLux® will repair/replace defective transformers, they must be bench-tested by a certified ClaroLux® Dealer to confirm malfunction. If the transformer can be fixed, the replacement parts will be sent from ClaroLux® to the ClaroLux® Dealer to repair/replace the parts. Warranty will not be honored for transformers with cut power cords or cut internal wiring, bent housings, or other modifications.

Note-b: ClaroLux® will no longer warranty transformers manufacturered by MDL.  MDL declared bankruptcy therefore ClaroLux® will no longer accept MDL transformer returns.  

Note-c: ClaroLux® will no longer warranty transformers manufactured by Jefferson Electric.  Jefferson Electric has voided their warranty policies on their low voltage transformers and are now only offering a 1 year warranty.  ClaroLux® no longer offers Jefferson Electric units.  If you have a warranty claim please contact their warranty department.     

Transformer warranty covers only properly installed and maintained transformers by a certified ClaroLux® Dealer. Transformers returned and inspected at the ClaroLux® Manufacturing Center in Greensboro, NC, found to have the following will not be covered by warranty:

  • Transformers left operating in a horizontal position or while in contact with the ground
  • Transformers left operating without cover in place as evidenced by internal weather or water damage
  • Transformers with missing covers or other supplied parts
  • Transformers with cut power cords, or that have been altered in any way
  • Transformers damaged by loose terminal block screws
  • Transformers that have been overloaded or exceeded the maximum amperage/wattage rating
  • Transformers installed within one thousand feet of any salt water source must be installed in an enclosure such as by Hoffman MFG or in a building, shed, or suitable protection to avoid salt spray damage to the transformer. Damage from salt spray is not covered by this warranty. Installations in a building must adhere to specific local electrical code. Contact local electrical authority for details specific to your municipality or governing body.
  • Transformers damaged by surges or lightning strikes.

 

Returns For Transformers

Transformers that are returned to ClaroLux® must have an RGA from ClaroLux® Corporate in Greensboro, NC. All warranty claims, please send to warranty@clarolux.com. To replace a transformer that is suspected of having a warranted defect, the original purchaser must contact ClaroLux® and obtain a return goods authorization (RGA) and ship FOB destination to the ClaroLux® Manufacturing Center identified on the RGA.

The transformer(s) will be repaired and returned to customer either with a like model swapped out for the returned unit or the actual returned unit being repaired and returned to the customer. ClaroLux® reserves the right to issue a credit, repair, or swap-out with a rebuilt transformer any defective transformer.

If returned transformers are found to require repairs not covered under warranty, then the customer will be notified of the repair charge and given 10 days from the date of estimate to choose to either repair, return un-repaired, or to abandon ownership. Minimum transformer repair fee for repairs not covered under warranty (please call ClaroLux for minimum repair fee). Transformers held over 30 days (without communication from owner) will be considered abandoned and ClaroLux® will assume ownership. If owner authorizes unwarranted repairs, then the owner will be responsible for all repair, packaging, and shipping costs.

In addition to the above, all returned transformers must be tagged with the customer’s name, contact person, problem encountered, cell phone number, and email address. Do not write on the transformer with a magic marker. The transformer must be packaged properly to avoid shipping damage.  ClaroLux® does not cover damage caused in transit.  

 

Brilliance LED Warranty

LED Circuits

ClaroLux® offers Brilliance LEDs.  The manufacturer, Brilliance LED, warrants its LED circuits (includes LED drivers, chips, and replaceable LED modules) when purchased from ClaroLux® or an authorized ClaroLux® distributor to the original purchaser as follows.

Extended Warranty for LED Lamps and Integrated LED Circuits (applies when an approved ClaroLux® Lighting transformer and dimmer (if used) powers and controls the system):

  • Brilliance LED Direct Replacement MR16s and PAR36s: 5 Years
  • Brilliance Integrated LED’s & Modules: 5 Years
  • Brilliance LED Direct Replacement Bi-Pins: 1 to 3 Years

The following ClaroLux transformers are approved for use with ClaroLux’s LED circuits:

  • ClaroLux MT Pro-Series Transformers (75W – 600W)

Note: Any other transformers used with Brilliance's LED Line must be approved by an authorized ClaroLux® representative. If a non-approved transformer is used with Brilliance LED's Line all warranties are voided.

Approved Dimmer Switches:

  • ClaroLux® only approves BrillianceLED 12V Dimmers and Lutron 120V Dimmers.

Note: Any other dimmer used with a ClaroLux Landscape Lighting System® must be approved by an authorized ClaroLux representative. If a non-approved dimmer is used with a ClaroLux transformer all warranties are voided.

 

Warranty Disclaimer

Warranty coverage is extended to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. ClaroLux® is not responsible for items that are left by UPS at your place of business or residence that are not signed for. Lamps and items with glass are purchases at the customers own risk. We are not responsible for any shipping damages for any item with glass. If items with glass are damaged during shipping, the carrier is responsible for this damage.  ClaroLux® will repair the glass and bill the customer accordingly. 

We will help you receive reimbursement from the carrier. We are not responsible for any finish changes on any fixtures, for any reason. Copper, brass, and other raw materials are subject to age. Over time, some materials are subject to fading in extreme conditions. Any damage that is deemed out of the ordinary wear and tear voids all warranties. Accidental damage, abuse, or incorrect installation of the product voids all warranty. These parts are available if they need to be replaced. Acts of God voids all warranties.

 

Claims Disclaimer

To replace a product that is suspected of having a warranted defect, the original purchaser must contact ClaroLux® Headquarters in Greensboro, NC, and obtain a return goods authorization (RGA) and ship FOB destination to the ClaroLux® Manufacturing Center identified on the RGA. Original owner must include proof of purchase, original purchaser's name, return address, and a detailed description of the allegedly defective parts or products.

The purchaser is responsible for the cost of labor to remove, repair, and reinstall any product.

ClaroLux® reserves the right to have a ClaroLux® authorized technician inspect the installation prior to removal of product to verify defect claim. If any of the warranted products are found by ClaroLux® to be defective, such products will, at ClaroLux's® sole discretion, be replaced, repaired, or refunded less an amount directly attributable to the owner’s prior use – such use to be calculated as a percentage of published estimated life.

Repaired or replaced product will be returned prepaid according to the shipping information provided by the original purchaser as noted on the RGA. The parties hereto expressly agree that purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy against ClaroLux® shall be for the repair, replacement, or refund of defective products as provided herein. This warranty extends only to product ownership by original purchaser and is not transferable whether to heirs, subsequent owners, or otherwise. This warranty does not cover labor or any other expenses to remove or install any defective, repaired, or replaced product.

This warranty does not apply to any products that have been subject to misuse, mishandling, misapplication, neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance), accident, improper installation, acts of God, improper packaging of returned products, modification, lightning strikes, voltage surges, or operating voltages in excess of +/ – 10% of the standard supply voltage of 120 volts or 230/240 volts AC, 50/60 Hz.

The forgoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied including those of merchantability, fitness, or for any particular purpose or infringement. Original purchaser shall in no event be entitled to, and ClaroLux® shall not be liable for, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any nature, including, but not limited to, loss of profit, injury to reputation, and/or loss of customers. No employee or agent of ClaroLux® may extend, modify, and /or change the terms of this warranty.
